Description
On June 13, 2026, a fire broke out at Naritasan Shokoji in a residential area of Obihiro, Hokkaido. The wooden main hall was destroyed and part of the adjacent Fudodo hall, said to be the oldest surviving wooden building in Obihiro (built 1902), was damaged. The fire was reported around 2:30 p.m. and was largely extinguished about two hours later. No injuries were reported. Police and fire authorities are investigating the cause.
