Privacy Policy

Japan Fire Map is operated by Japan Fire Map. This policy describes what we collect when you use the site.

What we collect

If you sign in with Google, we receive your display name, email address, and profile photo from Google. We store a user profile in Firebase. If you post comments, we store the comment text, your user ID, display name, avatar URL, and timestamps.

How we use it

We use this information to show who wrote each comment, to let you manage your account, and to operate discussion on incident pages. Incident map and article data do not require sign-in.

Service providers

Authentication, database, and hosting are provided by Google Firebase and Vercel. Google processes sign-in according to its own privacy policy when you use Google Sign-In.

Retention and deletion

Comments remain visible after you delete your account, shown as from a deleted user. Name and avatar on existing comments are anonymized. You can permanently delete your account from the Account page.
