Description
On September 18, 2025, a fire destroyed the pilgrimage lodge (sanrojo) beside the main hall of Misumiyama Shrine on the 516-meter summit of Mount Misumi in Use, Tottori City. The lodge was being used as a warehouse. The fire was reported around 6:25 a.m. The main hall, rebuilt in December 2024 after a 2022 fire that was also suspected to involve lightning, was not damaged. Later reporting said lightning may have been the cause; police and fire authorities investigated. No injuries were reported.
