Horin-ji 火災

概要

On the night of February 5, 2025, a fire destroyed buildings at Horin-ji on Yojima in Sakaide, Kagawa Prefecture. The fire was reported around 9:30 p.m. No injuries were reported. A city-designated cultural property, a Heian-period Amida Nyorai seated statue, may have been lost in the blaze. The temple is on an island in the Seto Inland Sea near the Seto Ohashi bridge. Police and fire authorities are investigating the cause.
